THE MOUTH, AUGUST 10TH, 2011 - One can only imagine what life has been like the last couple of days for British broadcasters nearest to the riots. This morning there are reports that a BBC radio car was set ablaze in the town of Salford last night as radio and other media struggled to keep out of the fray in north-west and the west of England. Aaccording to The Guardian, A spokeswoman for BBC News confirmed one of its radio cars was set on fire. The BBC has caught some criticism for not having more reporters out covering the riots but a spokesman pointed out that many of its "had vehicles and people attacked", which made "working there very hard to be fair". Jockline Daily hopes to bring more direct coverage of the UK riots from our own UK Correspondent Graham Mack who's "Top News From The UK" will post tomorrow. Official Challenges Radio Host To Boxing Match Over Negative Remarks

THE MOUTH, AUGUST 10TH, 2011 - Here's an idea that could hit one host right in the mouth. Vancouver City Councillor Marc Pettersen is apparently fed up with KYK Radio X Carl Monette over his relentless defamatory remarks about him, his wife and children on the air. Now according to CBC News, he's challenged him to a fight in the boxing ring. He said he can take the attacks on him, but feels Monette crossed the line by going after his family. Pettersen tells the cbc "He always hides behind his mic, but in a boxing ring he will not be able to hide." Monette, who's 31, is apparently not too keen on the idea. On yesterday's show he complained "I hope he's going to pass some tests. You know what I mean? He's 54. He's overweight. He's old. You know, I'm not going to fight my grand-dad," Monette said. With Pettesen eyeing the event in October, he says he's already begun training. Stay tuned.

WOMEN STUDY: "Pandora Not Much Better Than Favorite Station"

THE MOUTH, AUGUST 10TH, 2011 - In Alan Burns ongoing study of 15-54 yr. old women, he says women who cume AC radio and listen to Pandora rate the music they hear on Pandora only 1.5% higher than the music on their P1 radio station. “So even though women who use Pandora and other customizable streamers rate personalization and the ability to skip songs as very desirable, the bottom line for them is that the resulting music on the streamer they use most is not significantly better than on their favorite radio station. When the differences that emerge then, according to these women, is that compared to radio streams, customizable streamers don’t play as many commercials or play the same commercials or PSAs over and over.” Burns notes that for all women 15-54 the music rating gap between Pandora and P1 stations is slightly larger at 5.0% For information contact Alan Burns at (251)980-7070 or Alan@burnsradio.com.

With some added comfort, he told Bacon Yyou know what? I will do anything because I love my UK Hulkamaniacs." LISTEN TO AUDIO HERE AT DEADSPIN

Producing In A Crappy Economy: Radio's Top Producers Weigh In

THE MOUTH, AUGUST 10TH, 2011 - Jake Ray has almost 20 years of experience as a Producer, and has worked at some of the top shows in the country: KHFI/Austin, KLOL/Houston, KBKS/Seattle, and WSTR/Atlanta are just a few. Since 2005 he has been in NYC and earlier this year joined New York's legendary Hot 97 where he's Executive Producer for Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg. Having working with giant budgets in the past, he, like most producers today, is having to produce more with less. He tells Jockline Daily "Everybody is dealing with lower budgets right now, which means networking is all the more important. Focus on working with as many people as possible. Find other producers and trade ideas, contacts, stories, etc. That way you're not depending on just your own resources. Same goes for publicists. Work with sister stations to get interviews on all the stations in your building to maximize your value. It's really about making contacts. You can get whatever you need, it'll just take more time and effort." Tomorrow, Jockline Daily will share more tips from top producers on producing in a down economy. Stern Denies Any Link To Pirated "Super 8" Print

THE MOUTH, AUGUST 9TH, 2011 - Following this weekend's story of a bootlegged copy of the film 'Super 8' bearing an H. Stern watermark floating around the internet, the Sirius XM jock has now denied any involvment. According to The Examiner, Stern said on yesterday's show that his producer Gary Dell'Abate was contacted by Paramount Pictures regarding the pirated screener weeks ago, but that the HSS cast and crew has already been cleared of any wrongdoing. Stern said “I watch it at home," said Stern. It doesn’t leave my hands ... I hate to have my name associated with anything like this. I’m so paranoid about it that I literally watch it, I put it back in my bag and I take it back. Nobody gets it. Nobody can see. I bring it right back...I don't pass it around to anyone. Ever...It had nothing to do with me.” READ EXAMINER STORY HERE

Fox' Megyn Kelly Calls Out Michael Gallagher Over Maternity Leave Diss [VIDEO]

THE MOUTH, AUGUST 9TH, 2011 - Just back from a three month maternity leave, Fox News host Megyn Kelly welcomed talker Michael Gallager to the show and quickly took him to task over a comment he had made to TV's Chris Wallace during one of his past shows. According to politico.com Gallager said to Wallace “Megyn’s still on maternity leave … what a racket. How much time does she get off?” When Wallace said three months, Gallager said, “that’s unbelievable.” On yesterday's show, following some typical political banter, Kelly then called out Gallagher to explain his comments. "Are you not taking those remarks back? Is maternity leave, according to you, a racket?” Kelly asked. Gallagher, who appeared to be squirming, asked if men are given the same leave. “Guess what honey they do … if men would like to take three months off to go take care of their newborn baby they can,” snapped Kelly. Apparently looking for a way out, Gallagher finally jokes: “Let me give you an explanation. I was drinking that day.” WATCH VIDEO HERE (Go to about 3 min.)
