Atop a black background on its website featuring a single orange ribbon with the number 91, it states below: "On behalf of the entire Route 91 Harvest Family, we are completely devastated by the event that occurred Sunday night. Our deepest sympathies go out to the injured and the deceased and their loved ones. Senseless violence has claimed the souls of our fans and we have little in the way of answers," it states. "Our eternal gratitude goes out to the LVPD, Emergency services, security guards, and fans for their selfless acts of bravery while trying to help those in need. While we will try and move forward, we will never forget this day. We will not let hate win over love. We will not be defeated by senseless violence. We will persevere, and honor the souls that were lost. Because it matters." Jason Aldean also released a statement reports Rolling Stone, writing, "At the end of the day we aren't Democrats or Republicans, Whites or Blacks, Men or Women. We are all humans and we are all Americans and it's time to start acting like it and stand together as ONE! That is the only way we will ever get this Country to be better than it has ever been, but we have a long way to go and we have to start now."

BLOG: What TV Doesn’t Want You To See THE MOUTH, OCTOBER 4TH, 2017 –– In Westwood One's latest blog, it outlines current television audience erosion trends proving to be concerns for brands. Here are the main takeaways: • Less people are paying for TV: Due to the rise of cord-cutters and cord-nevers, many are turning from traditional media. That means cable ads reach fewer and fewer viewers. • TV ads aren’t being seen: The Council for Research Excellence reports that many TV viewers don’t actually see the ads on television. When ads are actually airing, 61% of that time eyes aren’t on the screen due to multitasking with a second device or leaving the room entirely. • Heavy radio listeners are more aligned with desirable, tech-savvy heavy Internet users: This is the demographic that brands want – affluent, younger, and more upscale than heavy TV viewers who tend to be older, in smaller homes, and less likely to be employed. •TV reaches less people than AM/FM radio: AM/FM radio America’s #1 mass reach media, reaching 93% of Americans weekly. With nearly 1 out of 4 American homes not reached by the top 20 cable networks, TV can’t compete.
Referee Files Lawsuit Against Kentucky Sports Radio Over Fan Threats THE MOUTH, OCTOBER 4TH, 2017 –– In what might be a first, a college basketball referee has filed a lawsuit against a Kentucky-based media company over fan threats reports The Athletic. The official John Higgins alleges intentional infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy, tortious interference with a business, and civil conspiracy. In the lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Nebraska, the plaintiffs, which include Higgins, his wife, Carol, and his company, Weatherguard, allege that Kentucky Sports Radio and its operators, Matt Jones and Drew Franklin, shared Higgins’ personal and business information online and on the radio, causing harm to his family and his business. The claim calls for an award of damages in excess of $75,000, with a specific amount to be determined at trial. The suit claims that Higgins’ company was allegedly subjected to thousands of threatening phone calls and voice messages from Kentucky fans, including death threats against Higgins and his family, following his work in an Elite Eight game between Kentucky and North Carolina in 2017. The Wildcats lost, 75-73. After The Athletic reported the lawsuit, Jones wrote on his Twitter feed, “The Higgins lawsuit against KSR is frivolous and without any legal merit whatsoever. We will defend it and expect a favorable result quickly.” SEE LAWSUIT HERE
