REPORT: L.A.D.A.'s Office Mulls 'Elder Abuse' Charges Against Jean Kasem

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 11TH, 2014 –– The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office is now considering charging Jean Kasem with 'elder abuse' charges reports The ENQUIRER. Logan Clarke – working on behalf of Casey’s daughter Kerri – confirmed to The ENQUIRER that the LAPD has turned over the case following an investigation. Clarke called the road trip from a California nursing home to Washington State, a “wild ride,” and said Jean’s decision to take Casey from the facility endangered his life and ultimately led to his death. Clarke told The ENQUIRER: “W7e have statements – and so do the police – from nurses about Jean and the way she allegedly treated her husband. When Jean took Casey out (of the facility), she was told, ‘You cannot disconnect him from his feeding tube – if you do, he will die!’ The tube was surgically implanted in his stomach, so she took the feeding machine. “They let her take it because it was the only thing that would keep Casey alive!” Clarke also claimed when Jean ran out of proper food, she bought the liquid nutrition drink Ensure. “Allegedly, Ensure was poured into Casey’s feeding machine,” Clarke claimed. “It broke the machine and then Casey’s colostomy bag apparently began filling up with blood!” Casey was eventually taken to a hospital in Gig Harbor, Wash., where he passed away on June 15th. Meanwhile, Kasem's unburied body remains Norway, where it has to be embalmed.

[WATCH] Steve Dahl To Pen Final Chapter On Disco Demolition

7

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 11TH, 2014 –– Now thirty-five years after one of radio's most notorious and memorable radio stunts, Chicago media blogger, Robert Feder says Steve Dahl will finally clear the air about Disco Demolition with a 'definitive' book on the event. Dahl is teaming with former Chicago Sun-Times columnist, Dave Hoekstra and photographer Paul Natkin to write 'Disco Demolition: the Death of Disco.' It’s set for release in April 2016 by Curbside Splendor. Just to recap, this was a promotion that set out to blow up a box of disco records between games of a twilight double-header between The White Sox and Detroit Tigers at Comiskey Park. After fans stormed the field between games, it ended up with the second game being forfeited due to the field being unplayable. Dahl was then the morning host at WLUP, explained to Feder: “I wanted to make sure that there is both an oral and pictorial history of what really happened that night,” he said. “As we get further from the event, people tend to assign different meanings to it. It really was about saving rock and roll.” To capture a bit of pandemonium that night, check out the TV coverage HERE

NO FAD: Instagram Tops 300 Million; Now Bigger Than Twitter

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 11TH, 2014 –– Just nine months after hitting 200 million users, Instagram now reports 300 million people use its photo app every month, with 70% of them coming from outside the US, reports techcrunch.com. That makes Instagram officially bigger than Twitter, which had 284 million active users as of six weeks ago. In its fourth year, there are now 70 million photos shared each day, and over 30 billion total. Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom says on its blog: “Over the past four years, what began as two friends with a dream has grown into a global community.” Between Facebook’s 1.35 billion, Messenger’s 500 million, and WhatsApp’s 600 million users, Facebook has developed quite a footprint. In the near future, Instagram plans to launch verified badges for celebrities, brands, and athletes so people don’t accidentally follow parody, tribute, or look-alike accounts.
