Schnitt Caller Claims Family Brutalized By Jovan Belcher [AUDIO]

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 4TH, 2012 –– Compass syndicated host Todd Schnitt of the 'Schnitt Show' made news of his own last week with the bombshell he was soon leaving his afternoon slot on WFLA/Tampa. Yesterday he was part of another shocker, but this time it involved Jovan Belcher, the Kansas City Chiefs star who killed his girlfriend before taking his own life last Saturday. A caller named Joe, rang up Schnitt and claimed his son had once attended school with Jovan on Long Island, NY, back when Belcher was a pre-teen. He claimed Belcher and his friends would regularly bully, rob and beat up his son and numerous other charges. Schnitt interrupted with "Hold, Hold, Hold on, you're leveling some pretty serious charges here." "I've got proof," said the caller. Who said he had been on radio and tv back then. "He was a friggin' maniac when he was 12 years old ... we went to the police, we went to the Department of Education. We couldn’t do nothing about this kid. Around adults, he always acted like he was such a sweet little guy.” Joe said he eventually relocated his family to Florida, just to get away from Belcher. “He destroyed my family. He should have been dead 10 years ago... ” LISTEN TO AUDIO HERE

Howard Stern Back For Second Season of 'America's Got Talent

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 4TH, 2012 –– By now we're all too familiar with Howard Stern's penchant for teasing pending contract negotiations for either his SiriusXM satellite radio show or, more recently, whether or not he would be returning to the judges' table for next season's 'America's Got Talent' on NBC. Given the recent exit of co-judge, Sharon Osbourne, and his own comments regarding whether or not return, he quickly put rumors to rest yesterday by announcing on his radio show that he was headed back for his second season on the talent show. "I'm very, very excited, honestly, about going back to 'America's Got Talent,'" he said. "I'm very excited to be working again with Simon Cowell and NBC and all the various folks who work there." Co-host, Robin Quivers seemed pleased as well, saying "I think that's great, because I certainly enjoy you on the show." Meanwhile, Howie Mandel has yet to say if he was returning decision, and Sharon Osbourne has said she will not return and no word has been mentioned regarding Osbourne's successor. And what does Stern think if it ended up being it only judge? Not surprisingly, he said "Believe me, if I was the only judge, I think the show would be terrific. You don't need the other judges, but all right. I gotta to learn to play with others." PHOTO: NBC

Questions Remain Following Shots Fired At CBS Building

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 3RD, 2012 –– In the aftermath of last Friday's shots which shattered panels of glass of outside NewsRadio 1080 KRLD in Dallas, questions still remain as to the shooter or exactly who the intended target was. Among the windows hit belonged to KRLD promotions director Matt Stacks, who told CBS News that he first thought a bird hit the 5th floor window. “I just heard a loud boom. I turned around and looked at my window and noticed it started splintering out and saw some stuff falling from the window above.” Another window hit was that of attorney Pete Schulte, whose outer window was also shattered. He theorized the shots came from the direction of Central Expressway, and were either fired from the freeway, or from the frontage road that faces the building. Schulte is known for representing high-profile clients like Pilar Sanders, the estranged wife of former Cowboys star Deion Sanders. What's still unclear is whether Schulte or any CBS Radio stations were targeted. In addition to KRLD, the building also houses offices for radio stations 105.3 The Fan, 103.7 Lite FM, 100.3 Jack FM, 98.7 KLUV and Mega 107.5 FM on various floors. Mega's Edgar 'Shoboy' Sotela tells Jockline Daily "Today there was extra security at the building and we are still without a reason of why the shooting happened. The shots came from the street in front of our 12 floor building but the target was the 6th floor office of an attorney's office, thanks to the double pain windows the shot did not go through. One shot also hit the top of a 5th floor office window of our promotions office for The Fan 105.3. Unreal that this would happen in broad daylight 3:15pm."

DON TANNER: "Morning Drive Remains The Holy Grail of Radio"

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 3RD, 2012 –– Nice piece in crainsdetroit.com regarding where recent 89X Windsor/Detroit's Dave and Chuck might end up. Writer Bill Shea believes their landing in Detroit, they will be a force to be reckoned with, as their audience will very likely move with them despite the format," because they DON'T PLAY MUSIC IN THE MORNING, said Don Tanner (shown), a partner in Farmington Hills-based Tanner Friedman Strategic Communications and author of a book about the radio and music industries, "No Static At All." He adds "Morning drive remains the holy grail of radio. It's where the big money is made, station brand and tone are set and, every programmer hopes, is what will induce listeners to stick with the station throughout the day," Tanner said. Fellow Detroit resident, Fred Jacobs, of Jacobs Media also weighed in on the trend of shows staying in one market: "...the trend for a long time has veered away from shows jumping around. Those that do, do so because a deeply loyal audience will follow them, and a new station is willing to pay for the established product. PHOTO: Facebook/Tanner "READ ARTICLE HERE

Chilling Audio From Frank Pastore's Broadcast Prior To Accident [AUDIO]

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 3RD, 2012 –– It's been nearly two weeks since KKLA/LA's Frank Pastore's tragic motorcycle accident on the 210 Freeway which left him in coma. Now, KKLA has released what many say is both a chilling and prophetic audio from the night of the crash. With the blessing of Pastore’s wife, Gina, the audio was released and has Pastore commenting on life after death: “Isn’t it interesting [that] secular science is addressing the question, ‘Does man have a soul? Is there such a thing as immaterial reality?’ And it’s couched in the category of ‘is there life after death?,” Pastore said. “I mean look, you guys know I ride a motorcycle don’t you? .. So, at any moment, especially with the idiot people who cross the diamond lane into my lane, alright, without any blinkers, not that I’m angry about it, but at any minute I could be spread out all over the 210, but that’s not me, that’s my body parts. That key distinction undergirds the entire Judeo-Christian worldview and also your pursuit of reality.” As Jockline Daily previously reported, later that night, a car sideswiped his motorcycle as a driver swerved into the carpool lane on the 210 Freeway. As mentioned, Pastore remains in coma, in critical condition, but stable. LISTEN TO AUDIO HERE

Osbourne Baffled By AGT's Move To New York; Questions Team Chemistry [VIDEO]

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 3RD, 2012 –– On last Friday night's "Piers Morgan Tonight," Morgan, whom Howard Stern followed on NBC's America's Got Talent, was joined by departing judge, Sharon Osbourne where both seemed to raise questions regarding AGT's move to New York as well as Stern's role on the show. Without blaming Stern directly she said “I didn’t see the point of moving to New York. I didn’t see what that does. I don’t think a viewer at home watches that show and goes—they really don’t care whether it’s filmed in Philadelphia or Los Angeles or New York.... " Morgan opined that Stern's appearance on AGT seemed awkward because he was forced to edit himself heavily for primetime TV. While both admitting their love and fondness for Stern, Osbourne later admitted that the spark may not have been there this year. "I don’t know if we all had that chemistry that was broken and the show went..." She then shrugged her shoulders. WATCH VIDEO HERE

Savage Issues Stern Warning To Talk Radio

THE MOUTH, DECEMBER 3RD, 2012 –– Fresh on the heels of being added to WABC's lineup in New York, the syndicated Michael Savage Show's host appeared on its Aaron Klein Investigative Radio show to celebrate joining the cast and to pitch his new book, “Train Tracks: Family Stories for the Holidays.” According to WND, he also weighed in on the state of talk radio. Specifically, some of its conservative talk hosts. He suggested they're committing suicide by incessantly criticizing Barack Obama. “Many people on the conservative side of the dial are making the same mistakes now that the liberals made when Bush was in power. Radio America went bankrupt, why? Because all they did was … Bush bashing, and they were just crazy in the Bush bashing. Boring, boring. How much could you listen to? It wasn’t even clever Bush bashing. “Remember one thing,” Savage told Klein, “radio is primarily an entertainment medium. It was not created to be the voice of the Republican Party or the Democrat Party.” READ ARTICLE HERE
