Mindy McCready Found Dead Following Apparent Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2013 –– The music world was shocked to learn yesterday that 37 year-old singer Mindy McCready (shown) had died from an apparent single, self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Fox News. Last month David Wilson, McCready’s boyfriend and the father of 9-month-old son Zayne, was also found dead on the same porch where McCready's body was found. McCready had recently entered a court-ordered rehab earlier this month after her father told a judge she was no longer taking care of herself or her children and was abusing drugs and alcohol. Following Wilson's suicide, McCready said on NBC's "Today." She said she'd never gone through anything as painful as his passing. "I just keep telling myself that the more suffering that I go through, the greater character I`ll have," she said. In spite of McCready's success, her life was filled with various legal and personal problems. They included a custody battle with her mother over one of her sons, a drug overdose and in 2008, making headlines with claims of a longtime relationship with pitching great Roger Clemens, whom McCready said she met at karaoke bar when she was 15 and he was 28 and married.

Mark Kamins, Man Credited With Discovering Madonna, Dies Following Heart Attack

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2013 – It was learned over the weekend that Mark Kamins (shown), the man credited with discovering Madonna in 1982, passed away in Guadalajara, Mexico following a heart attack. According to ultramadonna, During the 80's, Kamins ruled the dance clubs in New York as a DJ and producer. It was there that he met and dated an aspiring young singer, Madonna Ciccone. She handed him some demos she had recorded which included the single "Everybody." He played it and the crowd loved it. Later, he introduced her to Seymour Stein, head of Sire Records, who signed her to a recording contract. "Everybody" went on to peak at number 3 on the Billboard Dance/Club chart. Upon learning of Kamins' death, Madonna issued a statement, writing: "I'm very sorry to hear about Marks death. I haven't seen him for years but if it weren't for him, I might not have had a singing career. He was the first DJ to play my demos before I had a record deal. He believed in me before anyone else did. I owe him a lot. May he rest in peace."

Bobby Bones Era Kicks Off In Nashville

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2013 –– It feels more like a movie premiere than the launch of new, nationally syndicated radio show, but today marks the debut of Bobby Bone's Show on The Big 98 WSIX. Last Friday he was welcomed to Nashville in star-studded fashion being greeted by local press and numerous country artists. As far as his first week on the air, He told Channel 5 News, " I can't really mention any big names like Brad Paisley or Jason Aldean. I'm just saying we have a lot of people that have said hey we want to get in early on in your show," Bones said. His show will originate from the newly revamped, former studio of legendary host Gerry House. Bones tells Jockline Daily: "...Just hoping to get through this week with everything working. I will say that the staff and engineers around this place have been awesome. Its been remarkable to watch them completely build a state of-the- art studio in a few days ... CBS Still Weighing WFAN Options

THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2013 –– Phil Mushnick of The New York Post writes there's been extended debate at CBS Sports Radio Network as to what goes where when the new network is introduced. Once the CBS owned WFAN A/F simulcast ends they'll have to decide what remains or what's removed on The FAN. Same for its new FM 101.9, which currently carries the AM’s programming. Mushnick opines: "It stands to reason CBS is eager to give its new national sports network the bigger boost in the biggest market by placing much or all of its programming on mega-signaled 660 AM." Weighing in on the decision are some its star-studded linup, including Doug Gottlieb and Jim Rome (shown). Plus, The FAN is loaded with the likeS of morning hostS, Craig Carton and Boomer Esiason and afternoon and evening host Mike Francesa. “We have a number of great options and are closely examining each one,” a CBS Radio spokesperson said Friday. ROSENBERG: Minaj Flap Resulted In Six Month Rating's Surge [VIDEO]

Last week he joined The Bob Rivers Morning Show on KJR-FM/Seattle where he explained how he actually got the job. “They were looking for nerds and they wanted someone who was comfortable kissing a supermodel at the Super Bowl.” He continued, “It actually said that on the form, you have to be ok [with] kissing a supermodel at the Super Bowl. But for Rich Berra, one half of the syndicated Johnjay & Rich Show, it was especially troubling as his Aunt Pam and Uncle Carl were on board and sent him text of both theirs and other passengers difficulties. He told Phoenix 3TV: "She's going to be fine, but I know they're tired and hungry, and just ready to be home .." Among text he received described "poo running down the walls," he said. "There was sewage seeping down walls, and people sleeping on mattresses in hallways and on decks, because the stench in their cabins is so strong. They were taking turns sleeping on their friends' balcony," Berra said of his aunt and uncle. Carnival has offered free cruise to passengers, plus $500 in spending money., but Berra doubts that will silence its passengers. THE MOUTH, FEBRUARY 15TH, 2013 –– The Daytona 500 on FOX is coming Feb. 24th, but you be hearing more about it on Dirty Mo Radio, Dale Earnhardt Jr's new online/podcast. According to foxsports, Earnhardt and JR Motorsports announced Thursday the birth of Dirty Mo Radio. It will be based at Earnhardt's official site, www.DaleJr.com, but its podcasts will also be available for free on common podcasting outlets such as iTunes. “Dirty Mo Radio's programming will cover a wide range of topics and perspectives,” said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, general manager of JR Motorsports. “Racing is the biggest part of Dale’s life, but it’s not the only part. A&E Picks Up Seacrest's Ballroon Dancing Docu-Drama Series

According to The Hollywood Reporter, he just nabbed a six episode series order for his unscripted effort, tentatively titled Montecito. And for those without a mansion in Montecito, CA, be aware, it's home to some of the wealthiest women in the world, and, as THR describes: "not their husbands, but their ballroom dance instructors." The series is described as allowing viewers to get to know the men and woman beyond the dance floor by exploring their often unique relationships. The series is being produced by Seacrest's Ryan Seacrest Productions. Adam Sher and Seacrest will serve as executive producers.
