Dave Hunter, Lisa Wray and Chuck Urquhart, who left 89X/Windsor last November, have also been tight-lipped, but with their latest FB post, those rumors should be put to rest later today. Meanwhile, filling in on WRIF before the launch of its new morning show, Meltdown will be holding court.

WHO's Simon Conway In It To Win It

THE MOUTH, MAY 20TH, 2013 –– Just in case you think only music jocks are the only ones willing to put themselves in funny costumes for fun and laughs, check out WHO/Des Moines Afternoon Drive host Simon. Conway at right. He took the phrase "you've got to be in it to win it" to a whole new level on Friday as he broadcast his show from INSIDE the Powerball! "The comments from our webcam and iHeart Radio audiences along with every line in the place lit up for the entire time I was inside more than justified what we did. It was hot, it was tricky (the headset had to be put on and removed from SImon's head by someone else!), but it was worth it," he said. Des Moines is the Headquarters for Powerball.

Drew & Mike Air Final Show From WRIF/Detroit

THE MOUTH, MAY 17TH, 2013 –– In a radio rarity, longtime Detroit morning duo, Drew & Mike, broadcast their final show this morning at its 22 yr. home, WRIF-FM where they got a chance to say one last goodbye. According to Detroit's Free Press, Some of it's members, like Senior Producer, Marc Fellhauer, started as listeners. “I was in Ann Arbor and I remember thinking, ‘I could work for those idiots. That’s soooo my sense of humor,’ ” says Fellhauer. “Seventeen years later I am still with them. On the long run. Drew Lane said “The show far exceeded anything I had envisioned. When we first started there wasn’t really a talking FM morning show and now there’s like five or six,” says Lane. “We first started having some great success at this time when (Howard) Stern came on. And (Ted) Nugent and Bill Bonds, both huge stars at the time, were also on. After we withstood that, people started to really pay attention.” As for it coming to an end, Mike Clark is still a bit baffled. “..Everything I heard about the why. ... I don’t know, man,” says host Mike Clark. “We had always thought that we’d be ending the show on our terms, when we wanted to. But this last week has been great — so many incredible listeners sharing their memories. I can’t believe they can remember everything in so much detail. It’s been a great run. But we definitely plan on making another one.” Radio historian Art Vuolo was there to film Drew & Mike's final show.

The Bert Show Debuts In D.C.; Brave Calls From Former Show's Fans

THE MOUTH, MAY 17TH, 2013 –– Everyone knows that replacing another show can often come with its share of angry emails and callers. But when that former show has been a market fixture for nearly 24 years, like Mix 107.3's Jack Diamond Show, it's safe to say you'll be in for a bumpier than normal ride. Yesterday, the syndicated Bert Show debuted live from its newest affiliate at Weiss' former home where he once co-hosted with Diamond. To the surprise of many, Weiss, unlike many hosts in this same position, took upset callers head-on by putting them on-air and letting them air their feelings. Weiss didn't back away from its show's make-up by admitting their show may not be as family friendly as Diamond's and would likely be more edgy. As for the initial response, Weiss tells Jockline Daily: The first few days has been exactly what I thought it would be. Our show is so different from Jack's that his p1's aren't gonna be our p1's. Nothing unexpected. It's the difference between Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon. I'm in no rush. It's gonna take a long time to bring listeners to our show 'cause the station is so well branded with Jack; as it should be. So, the ppm answer, not shocked at all by the pushback." He added later: "Jack was at MIX for 24 years. Those comments are a shining example of the legacy he built. If people WEREN'T outraged it would be shocking."

Howard Stern Purchases $52 Million, Palm Beach Mansion

M

THE MOUTH, MAY 17TH, 2013 –– Like our conferences, Jockline Daily often serves to inspire as much as inform. Perhaps this latest news will achieve that purpose. According to The Daily Mail, radio host and America's Got Talent' judge, Howard Stern, is apparently now set to split time between his apartment in New York with a new $52 million beachfront mansion in Florida (shown). The former home of textile tycoon Martin Trust has 12.5 bathrooms and five bedrooms, plus over 19,000 square foot on the beach. The exclusive community bears a residents' motto 'The best of everything,' and judging from the photo, there's little room for doubt. Among the notable past residents have included the Kennedy clan, Michael Jackson and John Lennon. And somewhere up the road, Rush Limbaugh. PHOTO/Bing

Yesterday she celebrated her twenty-fifth year with the country station in middays, a slot only shared by two hosts since 1980. "The biggest thing for me so far...everyday when I sign off the air I get to tell people that God loves them and encourage people. I've heard some very powerful stories about how that made a Mdifference in their life. I don't want to leave that," Addair said during an interview with WBIR TV. Along the way, Addair has experienced a few firsts. She once went into labor while in the studio. In addition to her air shift, she also serves as the station's music director. WATCH VIDEO
