Shooting Suspect Heads To Court; What To Expect THE MOUTH, JULY 23RD, 2012 –– As radio and the rest of media continues to discuss last Friday's Colorado shooting, the suspect heads to court this morning. James Holmes, 24, will appear in court to face multiple charges of the shooting and killing of 12 people and injured dozens more. According ABC's Channel 7 TV, initial advisement hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. at the Arapahoe County Courthouse. It will mark the first time Holmes has been seen in public since early Friday morning following the shooting. His attorney, James O'Connor, is one of Araphahoe's top public defenders. District Attorney Carol Chambers must decide if her office will seek the death penalty in the case. If not, Holmes would get mandatory life in prison without parole. According to Sam Kamin, a law professor at the University of Denver, he told the Los Angeles Times "It is all but certain that prosecutors will file first-degree murder charges against Holmes in the Arapahoe County courthouse and that they'll seek the death penalty. Celebrate everything that Jessica did, and celebrate everything that these victims did.’ And I'm glad that you guys are giving me the time to celebrate that and talk about how amazing of a person she is, rather than giving a minute or 30 seconds to this coward that did this. Hartman: “The story is even more unbelievable when you consider that she had cheated death at that Toronto mall shooting...Had she ever mentioned anything about that to you, Peter?” Burns: “Yeah. After it happened, it was like, ‘How lucky am I?’ I think it really hit her like, ‘Wow. I almost have a new lease on life. Let me make sure I do every single thing...’ About a week ago, we had dinner. PHOTO: Facebook LISTEN TO INTERVIEW HERE
HLN Features Bert Weiss Talking Denver Shooting With Two Sons; Is there any place I can feel my children are totally safe?" THE MOUTH, JULY 23RD, 2012 –– Bert Weiss (shown) of the syndicated Bert Show, writes in an HLN piece: 'I'm feeling a deep sense of heaviness today after hearing about the shooting during the screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Colorado. There are reports that toddlers and a three-month-old baby were among the victims. Is there anything more innocent than a child eating popcorn and sipping Coke with the lights of a movie screen reflecting off his face?" Bert asked: How many fathers were in that Aurora theater, trying to connect with their sons, when they suddenly found themselves frantically hitting the floor and covering their children in an attempt to protect them at any cost? How many parents innocently dropped their children off at the movies that night and silently relaxed, assuming their kids would be safe for two hours in the confines of a movie theater? Is there any place I can feel my children are totally safe? READ ENTIRE PIECE HERE

REPORT: Mariah Carey 'This Close' To Becoming A Judge On Next Season's American Idol THE MOUTH, JULY 23RD, 2012 –– To be honest, Jockline Daily can't decide what we look more forward to, next season's final 10 on American Idol, or its final cast of judges. As radio hosts, coast to coast, gaze on each day's news of which celeb's are in consideration, it at least appears one part of the puzzle may be 'this close' to being solved. According to Deadline-Hollywood, writer Nellie Andreeva says she's learned that Mariah Carey is finalizing a deal to join the show for a salary said to exceed $17 million. This, of course, follows the recent departure of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. The move may serve to trump NBC’s 'The Voice' landing of Christina Aguilera and Fox’s 'X Factor' bringing in Britney Spears. And the BIG question now is who will join Carey at the table IF she is indeed hired. Our bets are on Adam Lambert, but bets are off Randy 'Yo Yo' Jackson who is said to be remaining with the show in a 'mentor' role. Stay tuned We Hope You Like Jockline Daily?
