NZ Radio Stations Under Fire After Posting Hacked Nude Photos Of J-Law At Website THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 3RD, 2014 –– The Edge In New Zealand is under fire for publishing hacked nude photographs of Jennifer Lawrence on its website. The actress was among several female celebrities to have explicit images of themselves hacked from their computers and phones and uploaded onto the website 4chan. According to stuff.au.co, the Edge published the photos of Lawrence, but later took them down and supplied a link to them on another website. That link was also taken down later. A spokeswoman for The Edge apologized for the mistake but pointed out that other New Zealand websites had done exactly the same thing before them. At their Facebook page they posted: "We made a mistake yesterday by following what many other NZ and overseas websites had done and posting the photos of Jennifer Lawrence. "We are reviewing our pre-vet systems to avoid any similar mistakes in the future. We unreservedly apologize for posting the photos and confirm they were removed from our site as soon as we became aware of the mistake we had made." Radio Hauraki and ZM also reportedly had the images, or links to them, on their websites but they have since been removed. "This is a flagrant violation of privacy," Lawrence's publicist Liz Mahoney said. "The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence." The Edge's Facebook page was inundated with mainly negative feedback about the post.

Hartford's Cash Crusader Unmasked As Stunt To Promote Chaz & AJ's Arrival THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 3RD, 2014 –– 102.9 WDRC-FM announced Tuesday morning that Dr. Cash, a.k.a.Evan Blake, who works for 99.1 PLR, was their crusader. In a station release from Connoisseur Media, the stunt was designed to introduce the station's new morning show "Chaz and AJ." According to courant.com, he gave out hundreds of dollars during a Labor Day weekend scavenger hunt and captured the attention of the city and the media. By Tuesday morning, the Twitter account where Dr. Cash disseminated his clues had more than 2,000 followers. Chaz and AJ, longtime hosts on 99.1 WPLR in New Haven and three years on 95.9 WFOX in Stamford and Norwalk, will now be heard on WDRC in mornings. The Courant points out this isn't the first time Hartford has been treated to money give-aways by mystery radio peeps. In 1993, two WTIC-FM disc jockeys spent a week in June cruising around central Connecticut, dressed in white tuxedos, handing out $50 bills as part of a promotion for the station. The Courant wrote at the time: "The Man in White had first appeared with his tuxedo, stretch limo and wad of $50 bills about a week ago. Uttering only 'Everyone needs more,' he slipped quickly and quietly into supermarkets, diners, and shopping malls in several towns to hand out cash at random."
99.9 KEZ's Beth McDonald To Cross 30-Yr. Mark In Phoenix THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 3RD, 2014 –– In radio, it's hard enough keeping steady employment for 30 years straight, but imagine doing so at the same market? This will be the case tomorrow for Beth McDonald, longtime co-host on AC KESZ-FM (99.9 KEZ)/Phoenix. In a nice piece from azcentral.com, writer Randy Cordova explains that she started at KTAR before moving to KLZI (now KESZ). "I got a job as a news reader at KLZI. Over the years, the male lead on the show would leave or get fired. I somehow stuck through all these firings and exits and finally, after the last guy left, I jokingly said to the station manager 'Why don't you let me be the guy?' He said OK." In 1990, she teamed with Bill Austin and the show was branded Beth & Bill. Austin retired in February 2010, making a tearful announcement on the air. What listeners didn't know was that he was battling cancer. He died four months later. For McDonald, it was a difficult time: She was losing a dear friend and facing a career change. After Austin's retirement, "Beth & Bill" became "Beth and Friends." After crossing the 30-yr. mark, it doesn't appear she's planning retirement anytime soon. "For some reason, 30 years has people asking me, but I'm not ready to retire. KEZ has been very good to me. The people who work with me on the morning show: Those are my friends. I tend to be a loner in real life, so those are the people I'm very close to." READ FULL STORY HERE

Jack Diamond Decides To Exit The Max San Diego; 'Could Not Make Personal Pieces Fit' THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 2ND, 2014 –– Former WRQX-FM Wash. host Jack Diamond had a change of mind with this latest move to mornings at Max 107.5 San Diego. Over the weekend he posted on Facebook: 'My move back to San Diego was a sudden one. Really done in a couple days. With Internet research, and some phone calls, I thought I could put the housing and school pieces of the puzzle together pretty quickly. At least find our son a great Montessori School, a program he loves and excels in, and a nice house to rent. Simple, right? Ya know that saying "You can't go home again". It has nothing to do with the "physical" place, but rather time passes and things change. They certainly have in the 25 years I have been away from Southern California. Still LOVE San Diego, but being completely honest, I could not make the personal pieces fit." He also cited the high cost of housing in San Diego and finding places that accepted pets. As for his short lived stay, he said, "I couldn't have been happier, but was desperately worried about the most important thing, my family. They were very understanding in my return to DC. I can't thank them enough. This is 100% on me. The station was and is amazing. It will kick some serious tail in San Diego!
