Bubba The Love Sponge Remains In 'Best Of' Mode Amid Probe
THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2015 –– For the second day in a row, Bubba The Love Sponge aired in 'best of' mode following an investigation for alleged ratings tampering. This follows Nielsen announcing yesterday it will reschedule the release of ratings data for the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater market. The company said it was delaying the release to allow for completion of additional 'quality assurance steps'. Nielsen and Beasley Media both said last Friday they are investigating the matter as well. Bubba, whose show airs from Beasley Media's 98.7 Tampa, told Tampa's FOX 13 "He was unaware of the ratings tampering allegations and was off the air Friday because he was being treated for injury after a fall. He denied he had been fired from the station and said he would have more to say once he had more information on the allegations against him.
Talk Host Seeks FBI’s Help After Altered Video Shows Her Death THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2015 –– Fresh off this week's news of Chicago host Julie DiCaro taking a day off last Friday following threats aimed at her on Twitter, comes yet another disturbing threat aimed at a radio host. Popular syndicated host, Dana Loesch (L), a ardent gun rights activist who recently starred in a television advertisement for the National Rifle Association, has contacted the FBI following a disturbing threat made on the internet. According to mediaite.com, Loesch found herself targeted by an anonymous troll on social media who apparently disagreed with her gun advocacy stance and created a violent video depicting her death.” The doctored version was posted to Twitter sometime on Sunday night. It was subsequently taken down, but not before Loesch got access to a copy, which she then reposted to her own Twitter page in an effort to re-troll the person who initially posted it. In an edited clip taken from the original video, an off-screen hand positioned to look like Loesch’s own raise a handgun to her head and pulls the trigger. Loesch then tweeted: I’ve contacted the FBI. I will keep you updated. I am going to pursue this to the fullest extent.

San Diego's Alternative 102.1 KPRI Announces Sale To Christian Broadcaster EMF THE MOUTH, SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2015 –– San Diego's KPRi 102.1 announced on Monday that the station would be under new ownership. “This is a step we take with very mixed emotions,” Compass Radio president and station co-owner Jonathan Schwartz said in a news release. "We have loved the opportunity to serve San Diego for the last two decades, and we are grateful to our staff, listeners, advertisers and the San Diego community.” CEO, co-owner and radio host Robert Hughes added, “KPRI has been a true labor of love. All I can say is: I thank each and every one who has helped us create and sustain a truly amazing radio station.” According to the release, Educational Media Foundation (EMF), which purchased KPRi’s assets, specializes in adult contemporary Christian music. According to NBC TV San Diego, while EMF is taking control of programming beginning this week, the transaction requires approval from the FCC and is expected to close in January. Schwartz and Hughes sent a personal note via email to the KPRi staff Monday morning, both explaining and lamenting the sale.
